Nursing Programs

Working as a nurse at OU Health means you have flexibility in your schedule through innovative programs, created by nurses and made for nurses.

  • OU Health Travel at Home

With the OU Health Travel at Home Position, nurses are able to choose to get paid like a traveling nurse. This means nurses can receive a higher hourly rate in lieu of receiving benefits, unless required by law. In addition to new hires, this program is open to existing OU Health Nurses who wish to be compensated differently.

    Highlights

    • Higher hourly rate / Traveler’s rate
    • No benefits
    • Open to existing OU Health nurses who want to switch
    • Spots are limited – All OU Health nurses and advanced practice nurses are encouraged to apply
  • OU Health Weekend Position

With the OU Health Weekend Positions, inpatient nurses can work two (2) 12-hour weekend shifts every week. Completion of both 12-hour shifts earns an additional 12 hours of pay for the week. The position is still eligible for applicable differentials, based on the type of job. Positions are also eligible for OU Health’s full-time employee benefit plans, including medical, PTO, retirement, and more.

In addition to new hires, this program is open to existing all OU Health nurses and OU College of Nursing faculty. Slots are limited per hospital location, and hospitals include OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center, OU Health Edmond Medical Center and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health.

    Highlights

    • Work 24 Hours – get paid 36 hours
    • Slot availability limited – apply today
  • OU Health Nursing Degree Accelerator Program

Evidence suggests that higher nurse education is associated with lower risks of mortality and failure to rescue in acute care hospitals. In collaboration with OU College of Nursing, OU Health is committed to establishing seamless academic progression pathways for OU Health nurses.

    Highlights

    • OU Health will fund the cost of tuition, books, and fees for OU RNs accepted into the Nursing Degree Accelerator Program.

Degree Accelerator Applicants are required to submit a copy of the OU College of Nursing acceptance letter with their application.
